University of Arizona liver specialist Jen-Jung “J.J.” Pan, MD, PhD, an associate professor in the UA Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and member of the UA Thomas D. Boyer Liver Institute, was among presenters at an “Ask the Experts about Liver Disease” event hosted June 12 at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson by the Desert Southwest Division of the American Liver Foundation.
Attendance for the event, held in two conjoined dining rooms off the Banner – UMC Tucson cafeteria, was standing room only.

Other presenters included a UA dietary nutritionist, surgeon Alexandra Turner, MD, an assistant professor in the Abdominal Transplant Surgery Section of the UA Department of Surgery and Kara Kunz, community outreach and education manager for the American Liver Foundation in Phoenix. Banner Health transplant services administrator for Arizona, Deborah Maurer and members of her team also were present.
