University of Arizona Department of Medicine and Banner – University Medicine faculty and staff joined the UA Division of Dermatology in celebrating the successful opening of its new consolidated clinical offices at 7165 N. Pima Canyon Drive.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held July 2 with Division Chief James Sligh, MD, PhD, and Monica Kraft, MD, department chair and the Robert and Irene Flinn Endowed Chair of Medicine. Nearly 50 people attended, among them Drs. Robert Segal, Jason DuPont, Vivian Shi, Jeff Krase and Marilyn Wickenheiser. Also present were Tammy Ojo, MD, DOM clinical affairs associate chair and executive medical director for ambulatory services, Banner – University Medical Group Tucson, and Runjhun Nanchal, senior administrator, clinical practice, BUMG Tucson, as well as business managers Julio Valencia and Lorraine Glazar.

The BUMG Casas Adobes physician offices for Dermatology at 7005 N. Oracle Road in the Casas Adobes Shopping Center closed in the move to the new location. That site was where Dr. Segal had his private practice before passing it on to what was then the University of Arizona Health Network, which merged with Banner Health in 2015.
Main services for Mohs surgery patients remain at the UA Cancer Center North Campus, 3838 N. Campbell Ave., along with dermatologic surgeons Drs. Dupont and Duane Whitaker, MD.
Clara Curiel-Lewandrowski, MD, is expected to maintain offices at the UA Cancer Center for research purposes related to the UA Skin Cancer Institute, for which she serves as an Executive Committee member and director, Cutaneous Oncology Program (COP). Dr. Sligh also is associate director of the institute.
Sierra Wolter, MD, also has a pediatric dermatology clinic hosted by the Banner – UMG Pantano physician offices that will not be impacted by the transition. Dr. Curiel's COP clinics will not move from North Campus either for now.
