Building upon a long tradition of mutual support, the University of Arizona Arthritis Center once again will team up with the UA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics for the 2019 University of Arizona Arthritis Center Bear Down Luncheon to benefit the Center and its research efforts. This event is sponsored by Desert Diamond Casinos and Entertainment.
This unique event will be held Wednesday, May 8, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, 6360 N. Campbell Ave., Tucson.
The guest speakers will be Kevin Sumlin, UA head football coach, and Dave Heeke, UA vice president and director of athletics.
Sumlin, a three-time national Coach of the Year finalist, was named Arizona’s 32nd head coach on Jan. 14, 2018. Sumlin came to Arizona after serving as the head football coach at Texas A&M University from 2012 to 2017, compiling a 51-26 record, including three bowl victories.
