Fundraising strategist Elaine Cunningham, BSN, RN, MBA, joined the University of Arizona Health Sciences Development staff as director of development for the UA Cancer Center (UACC) in Phoenix on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019.
Cunningham will work closely with UACC leadership to develop effective strategies to secure philanthropic support through prospect identification, cultivation and management of a major and principal gift portfolio.
She joins the health sciences team after serving as director of development for UA Research, Discovery and Innovation (RDI), Life Science, where she was responsible for strategic outreach, prospect and moves management for the UA Evelyn McKnight Brain Institute and UA BIO5 Institute.
“Elaine’s strong background in fundraising at three land-grant, tier one research universities will have a significant impact on the philanthropic mission at the UA Cancer Center in Phoenix. With her extraordinary energy and passion for academic fundraising, along with a proven record of success, she will have an immediate impact,” said Manon O’Connor, acting associate vice president and chief development officer for the UA Health Sciences.
