Wina P. Yousman, MD, a resident with the University of Arizona Internal Medicine Residency Program – South Campus, was honored this week with an MVP Award from Banner – University Medicine.
The patient recognition award underscores the “Mission • Values • Purpose” (MVP) of the organization with respect to compassionate patient care and customer service.
The reason given by this particular patient for singling out Dr. Yousman was an “Obsessed Customer” (click image at right to enlarge):
“Earlier this week, I had an appointment with Dr. Yousman. I was her last patient for the day. I am very blessed to have her on my team of medical care. I know she is on her way to a fellowship here at Banner (Thank goodness she will continue her journey in medicine here). Dr. Yousman has been everything a patient is looking for in a physician. Whatever my needs are as a patient, whether it is navigating patient services, specialists, medications, she has proven herself to be one of the best physicians I have had as a patient. Thank you for the beautiful smile, warmth and understanding at the end of a very long, long day. What she saw in me was her patient, as if I was the first one of the day and not the last one at the end of the day. Thank you, Dr. Yousman. Your journey is just beginning and we are all so fortunate you have chosen this career. Just know you have made a difference. It has been a gift to watch you develop into an amazing physician.”
