The Division of Cardiology’s Arka Chatterjee, MD, has been recognized by the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions' “30 in Their 30s” program for early-career members who’ve proven leadership and demonstrated the organization’s core values.
The award recognizes the best and brightest young professionals in interventional cardiology for their professional excellence, values of service and teamwork, and support of the next generation of SCAI members.
Dr. Chatterjee is an associate professor of medicine, associate program director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program, member of the Sarver Heart Center, and medical director of the Structural Heart Program at Banner University Medical Center – Tucson. He joined the UArizona faculty in July 2020. He earned his medical degree from the University of Delhi’s Maulana Azad Medical College in 2006, did his internal medicine residency at the University of Louisville in Kentucky (2009-12), and his fellowships in cardiovascular disease (2012-15) and interventional cardiology (2015-16) at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. Joining the faculty there afterward, he was named a fellow of the SCAI acardsnd the American College of Cardiology in 2018.
The 30 in Their 30s announcement was made in May in Cath Lab Digest and via it and SCAI’s social media posts. It also was mentioned in a recent Banner – UMC Tucson newsletter.
