Since early on in his professional and personal career, Dr. Recio Boiles had the desire and strived to contribute to medical science and as a Hispanic physician-scientist. It has been his personal goal to reach out to underrepresented and underserved minority populations. Therefore, he chose a path that will closely serve them in highly prevalent areas such as Houston, Texas, the Bronx, New York, and Tucson, Arizona. During all these years of preparation, he acquired the experience, training, and expertise to successfully lead the proposed research project through the Clinical and Translational Oncology Program – with community outreach coordinated through the University of Arizona Cancer Center and multiple related community organizations.

Research Interests: 

Genitourinary Cancer Early and Late Phase Drug Development Clinical Trials; Cancer-Associated Venous Thromboembolism Prophylaxis, Treatment, and High-Risk Patients; Cancer Health Disparities and Minority Outreach Education, Screening, Access, and Clinical Trial Participation
