Craig A. Hoover, MD

Craig Hoover, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is a clinical assistant professor at the UArizona College of Medicine - Tucson, Division of Cardiology. He sees patients at Banner University Medical North Campus and Ina/Shannon locations. Dr. Hoover is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology. He joined UArizona and BUMC in 2021 with more than 20 years of experience practicing interventional cardiology in Tucson.

Dr. Hoover received his bachelor of science degree in biological sciences from Stanford University. He was awarded his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. After returning to San Francisco for his residency in Internal Medicine, he completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Arizona. He joined the University of Arizona and Southern Arizona VA Medical Center as a faculty member before going into private practice. After 15 years with Pima Heart, he joined the Carondelet Heart and Vascular Institute.

Dr. Hoover is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He served as Governor of the Arizona Chapter of the American College of Cardiology 2013-2016, as well as on the National Board of Governors of the ACC.  He has been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2016.
