Congratulations to the nearly 120 incoming medical students in the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson’s Class of 2023 who received their first white coats at the annual White Coat Ceremony, which was hosted Friday, July 26, at the UA Centennial Hall.
A big thank you, too, to all the UA Department of Medicine faculty and staff who participated and contributed to the White Coat Campaign 2023, which funds the coats that are presented to the med students. It’s still not too late to donate, but the funds will rollover to the 2024 campaign for next year’s incoming class.
This year, Banner – University Medicine also funded new stethoscopes for all the incoming medical students, too.
You can see video of this past week’s ceremony archived here (on the UAHS webcast site) or at this link, which aired live on Facebook during the ceremony. You also can just scroll down to view it on this webpage.
You’ll also see below photos from the ceremony, most by Indu Partha, MD, an internist with the Division of Geriatrics, General Internal Medicine and Palliative Medicine, a UA College of Medicine – Tucson Society Mentor and director of the Transition to Residency Boot Camp. Others are from social media postings of the UA College of Medicine – Tucson and UA Health Sciences Office of Public Affairs.
A big thank you to Nadia Whitehead, the college’s communications director, and Ross DuBois, special projects manager, for their efforts in planning and coordinating the event.
