Sharon Hesterlee, PhD, an alum of the University of Arizona Neuroscience GIDP and currently chief research officer at the Muscular Dystrophy Association, will speak on Thursday, Oct. 24, in HSIB Forum during an evening networking mixer, 5:30-7:30 p.m., hosted by the BioIndustry Organization of Southern Arizona (BIOSA).
Dr. Hesterlee’s talk will start at 6 p.m. and focus on the remarkable, life-changing therapeutics for genetic neuromuscular diseases that are FDA-approved and in development. This is an inspiring story with fascinating science, optimism, and hope for even better therapies to come. Nonetheless, controversies and challenges remain. Hear all about it from a leading expert on neuromuscular diseases, gene therapy, and other treatment modalities.
This mixer is free to BIOSA members; BIO5 Institute employees and faculty with BIO5 appointments are covered by BIO5’s membership in BIOSA. Individual BIOSA memberships and student affiliations are available here. Annual dues are prorated: For Oct-Dec 2024, that's $12.50 for individuals, $2.50 for students.*
[*Much cheaper than the non-member ticket price for the mixer, which is $40]
