Dr. Rachna Shroff elected to AACI steering committee

[Logos for the Association of American Cancer Institutes Physician Clinical Leadership Initiative (above) and AACI Cellular Therapy Initiative (below)]The Association of American Cancer Institutes will welcome two newly elected steering committee members to the AACI Physician Clinical Leadership Initiative (PCLI) and three to its Cellular Therapy Initiative (CTI) come 2025.

The new members’ terms begin on January 1.

Joining PCLI are Bhavana Bhatnagar, DO, director of Hematology and Medical Oncology, West Virginia University Cancer Institute; and Rachna Shroff, MD, MS, FASCO, who is the interim clinical affairs director and associate director of clinical investigations at the University of Arizona Cancer Center.

Dr. Shroff, who also is a professor of medicine and chief of the Division of Hematology & Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the U of A College of Medicine – Tucson, recently stepped down as a member of AACI’s Clinical Research Innovation Steering Committee.

Joining CTI are Michael E. Hurwitz, MD, PhD, associate professor of medicine, Yale Cancer Center; Barbara Ma, MD, MS, director of Cellular Therapy for Solid Tumors and Phase 1 director, Sandra and Edward Meyer Cancer Center at Weill Cornell Medicine; and Erin Winters, BSN, RN, BMTCN, senior research project director, The University of Kansas Cancer Center.
