Sharing Opportunities and Achievements in Research (SOAR) in the Department of Medicine is a new research series whose goal is to celebrate, support, and  build DOM research by bringing together DOM research-active and research-interested faculty and trainees at all levels (undergraduate students, graduate students, medical students, residents and fellows),

The DOM is already a leader at the College of Medicine – Tucson in extramurally funded research. However, as the largest department in COM-T, we also face unique challenges when leveraging our diverse talents to maximize our research potential.

To better celebrate and communicate about our current research, and build collaborations and community, SOAR Forums will occur multiple times a year, allowing DOM researchers to gather for informal networking and sharing events that will include poster presentations to highlight ongoing research, mini-breakout sessions (informational and/or research lightning rounds), research award recognitions, and opportunities for DOM research projects/collaborations to be identified for promotion within the U of A Health Sciences.

In addition to SOAR Forums, other SOAR events with different formats are planned. At the first April 24th SOAR Forum, ideas, feedback and guidance for these additional SOAR events will be solicited from DOM researchers.
