Dr. Hypes earned his medical degree from Ohio State University along with a master's degree in public health (MPH - Clinical Investigation) in 2010. His bachelor's degree, earned also from Ohio State in 2005, was in microbiology/biochemistry (Magna Cum Laude). Before coming to the University of Arizona, he completed his Residency in Emergency Medicine at Detroit's Henry Ford Hospital, where he also served as Chief Resident, in 2013. His Fellowship at the UofA in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine was completed at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson in 2015.
