Dr. David G. Johnson was a professor of medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism as well as a professor of pharmacology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, who also was a chair of the Institutional Review Board and served over 40 years at the U of A before retiring. He earned a bachelor's degree from Yale University and another in medical science from Dartmouth University before getting his medical doctorate at Harvard Medical School. Before coming to the U of A, he did his endocrinology fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle. His internal medicine residency training was at UCSF. He joined the U of A faculty in 1978.
