Lauren E. Estep, MD, is a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Arizona and joined the faculty of the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine in September 2020. 

Dr. Estep earned her medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania (2009-13). She then completed her Internal Medicine Residency training at the University of Illinois - Chicago (2013-16), and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship (2016-19) and Sleep Medicine Fellowship (2020) at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson.

Dr. Estep’s research interests include clinical and translational research in sleep medicine with a particular focus on microbiome and obesity patterns in patients with sleep apnea and drugs that alter this relationship. Additionally, her focus includes epidemiological research approaches for hypothesis generating in similar patient populations.
