Moulun Luo, PhD, oversees a research laboratory focused on insulin resistance in the liver. His work facilitates characterization of novel key proteins using techniques including glucose clamps (in human, mouse and rat), proteomics by mass spectrometry, and gene knockouts in cell lines by CRISPR.

Research Interests:

My major research interests are focus on the mechanisms of insulin resistance in liver, the development of NAFLD (Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease), and the role of mitochondria in insulin resistance. My minor research interests includes the tumor cell invasion and metastasis in melanoma and colon cancer.
