For undergraduate studies, Richard "Ben" Young attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where he received a bachelor’s degree in English Literature in 2009. He spent three years teaching and writing prior to beginning medical school at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, where he completed his medical degree in 2016. He completed his internal medicine residency training at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson in 2019, followed by serving as chief resident in 2019-20.
