The University of Arizona Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, UA College of Medicine – Tucson and Banner – University Medical Center Tucson are pleased to announce the inaugural Southwest Regional Advances in Digestive Diseases 2019; The Best of DDW.

We have noted that there are few ongoing Gastroenterology continuing medical education (CME) programs in the U.S. Southwest to enable community-based physicians and other providers to learn the latest developments in gastroenterology and hepatology without taking time from their busy practices to attend national meetings. To remedy this situation, the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the UA Department of Medicine and Banner – UMC Tucson will be offering a half-day educational conference Sept. 7, 2019, entitled “Southwest Regional Advances in Digestive Diseases 2019: The Best of DDW” at the J.W. Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa.

The conference will be dedicated to topics related to the latest advancement and rapidly changing treatments in digestive diseases. Up-to-date knowledge of both medical and surgical options is important for the best patient care. The event will consist of a series of lectures from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., centered around a 25-minute break to visit the exhibitor area, and followed by lunch at the resort.

This conference is directed toward physicians, surgeons, advanced practice practitioners (PAs, NPs, etc.), nurses, gastroenterologists, hepatologists, and other healthcare professionals interested in the management and treatment of digestive diseases.

The event will be held at the magnificent J.W. Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa, at which rooms will be available at a reduced rate for this conference through Aug. 24, 2019. Persons with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation, such as sign language interpreter, by contacting Linda Gonzalez, (520) 626-3992, SWRADD@ deptofmed.arizona.edu. Requests should be made as early as possible to allow time to arrange the accommodation.
