Winter Lung Series Conference Hears Northwestern Pulmonary Chief on ‘Macrophage Ontogeny & Age-Related Susceptibility to Lung Disease’

An address by G.R. Scott Budinger, MD, chief, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital (and Prentice Hospital), drew nearly 45 attendees to the Jan. 26 Winter Lung Series Conference event at the University of Arizona BIO5 Institute.

Erika Bracamonte, MD serves as Director of Surgical Pathology and oversees the Histopathology laboratory at University Medical Center.  In addition to providing surgical pathology diagnostic interpretations, she directs the renal biopsy service, including light microscopy, immunofluorescence and electron microscopic evaluation of native and allograft renal biopsies.

Biomedical Sciences Partnership Building Opening Doors to Discovery

After nearly two years of construction, the sparkling copper Biomedical Sciences Partnership Building will open today, bringing scientists and researchers together to discover innovative solutions to today’s most pressing health issues.

The 10-story, 245,000-square-foot building is the latest addition to the growing downtown Phoenix Biomedical Campus. Part of the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix, it is adjacent to the college’s award-winning Health Sciences Education Building and connected through a walkway labeled the Grand Canyon.
