2017-18 faculty teaching award winners from UArizona Department of Medicine (click to enlarge)The UArizona Department of Medicine has won the lion’s share of awards presented in recent years at the COM-T Teaching Awards. In each of the past two years (click on image at right for table of winners), for instance, a dozen faculty and housestaff in internal medicine have received honors (including pathologist Erika Bracamonte, MD, with a dual appointment in Nephrology who won in 2018 and 2017, and Payson, Ariz.’s Judith Hunt, MD, who won a Rural Preceptor Teaching Award in 2018). The DOM’s John Bloom, MD, and Amy Sussman, MD, were presented with chairs in successive years as Basic Science Educator of the Year – Lifetime Award winners, thus retiring them from winning again after five total wins in that category.

You can see all the award winners, stretching back to 2013, at this link. For DOM News coverage of these awards and who among our faculty has won them, see “ALSO SEE” stories at the bottom of this article.
