Dr. Acharya Gives Down-Low on Heart Failure in Latest Banner Podcast

The Division of Cardiology’s Deepak Acharya, MD, MSPH, presents in the latest Banner Health podcast — Making the Rounds — kicking off a series of informational talks on the theme, “Failure is not an option,” covering cardiovascular disease and heart failure.

An associate professor in the Department of Medicine and at the Sarver Heart Center, Dr. Acharya’s topic is: “Early diagnosis is the key for cardiovascular disease.” Click here to listen.

In it, he points out that nearly half of all Americans are at risk for cardiovascular and heart disease according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Each type of heart disease has its own set of symptoms and treatment options, and many of those options have advanced greatly in recent years.

Dr. Acharya, who also is program director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship, specializes in advanced heart failure, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, acute and durable mechanical circulatory support, cardiogenic shock, cardiac catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention, structural heart interventions and pulmonary hypertension.
