Resident and fellow physicians in the first year of their training programs were feted recently at two receptions convened at Tucson’s Culinary Dropout restaurant as part of their welcome to the University of Arizona and Tucson. See a gallery of photographs from both below.
The receptions were hosted by Banner – University Medicine Tucson in collaboration with the U of A College of Medicine – Tucson’s Office of Graduate Medical Education.
The first, which was for interns in PGY-1 — program year one — of the Internal Medicine Residency Program – Tucson Campus as well as other residency programs at the College of Medicine – Tucson, was held June 19, 6-8 p.m.
The second, for fellows, was held July 1, also 6-8 p.m. Among fellows who attended were those from the divisions of Rheumatology; Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine, or PACCS; Nephrology; and General Internal Medicine, Geriatrics & Palliative Medicine – which hosts both the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship and Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship – and Cardiology. PACCS hosts three fellowships: Allergy & Immunology; Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine (which also includes a Critical Care Medicine Track); and Sleep Medicine.
PhotoFunBooth, of Marana, Arizona, provided the costume, décor and cameras for the photos.
