PHOENIX – Researchers at the University of Arizona have completed the first-of-its-kind study that could aid in the treatment, diagnosis and prevention of cervical cancer by identifying cervicovaginal metabolic signatures, or “fingerprints,” that distinguish patients with HPV, pre-cancerous cervical conditions and cancer.
The University of Arizona Mobile Health Program has expanded its services, in partnership with the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation (SAAF), Youth on Their Own (YOTO) and Primavera Foundation’s Casa Paloma.
A new bachelor’s degree program in emergency medical services, offered by the Department of Emergency Medicine in the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, will start this fall.
As many as two-thirds of elderly patients admitted to acute-care settings are exposed to multiple medications known to interfere with the ability of the heart to “recharge” between beats, which could lead to a life-threatening form of cardiac arrhythmia.
