The recently established Annual University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson Clinical Excellence Award recognizes physician faculty members at the assistant or associate professor level for outstanding clinical care.
The Banner – University Medicine Division of Banner Health has launched a new monthly newsletter for physicians and clinical staff that work at Banner – University Medical Center facilities in Tucson and Phoenix.

These workshops are open to all members of the campus community. They also count toward RCR education required for students, postdocs, and certain junior faculty funded through the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF), and/or National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA).

Deepak Acharya MD, MSPH is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center and Program Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship. He received his medical degree and completed Internal medicine training at Baylor College of Medicine. He then completed his cardiovascular fellowship, advanced heart failure/transplantation fellowship, and clinical research training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Interventional Cardiology training was completed at the University of Arizona, Tucson.
