The University of Arizona College of Medicine Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship offers one to two positions every year. This fellowship is designed for individuals interested in pursuing a career with emphasis on imaging.
The CV imaging fellowship is a one- or two-year non-ACGME program devoted to clinical training in cardiovascular computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The fellowship can be tailored to individual needs with an aim of achieving COCATS level 3 training in cardiac CT and COCATS level 2 training in cardiac MRI. Dedicated learners may acquire level 3 training in MRI based on the time spent in training.
The CV imaging laboratory performs over 2,000 cardiac CT scans and over 1,000 cardiac MRI studies per year. Fellows gain a wide range of experience in cardiovascular CT spanning coronaries (calcium scoring, CAD evaluation, including native vessels, stents, and CABG, anomalous coronaries, vasculitis); structural imaging (TAVR, TMVR, LAA occlusion device, PVI and other EP procedural planning, paravalvular leak assessment, etc.); vascular assessment and adult congenital heart disease evaluation. Cardiac MRI training will include viability, cardiomyopathy, shunt, pulmonary hypertension, valve, mass, congenital and vascular assessment as well as stress perfusion imaging.
The fellowship is based at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson and will support trainees through a part-time appointment with the Banner – University Medical Group. Graduates of cardiovascular disease fellowship, internal medicine residency and radiology residency are welcome to apply.
