Amelia Gallitano, MD, PhD, a physician-scientist at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix, has received a grant to develop the first diagnostic test for schizophrenia.
The University of Arizona Health Sciences sent a “Construction Notice” memo Jan. 5 that Banner – University Medical Center has completed vacating the outpatient clinics (OPCs) within the UAHS Building 201, which also houses the UA College of Medicine – Tucson—specifically those clinics on floors 2 and 4 through 8.
The University of Arizona Department of Medicine hosts its second annual research poster night event to recognize work across the UA Department of Medicine by faculty physicians and researchers who serve as principal investigators on numerous projects financed by federal grants and additional funding to develop innovative therapies and other solutions to many of the world’s most challenging and debilitating health issues.

Manon L. O’Connor has been appointed senior director of development at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, where she will lead development efforts to advance philanthropic priorities for the college.
An engaging discussion with Charles Katzenberg, MD, titled “Tools You Can Use to Prevent Heart Attack and Stroke,” will provide specific actions to prevent heart disease and stroke. The lecture will take place Saturday, Jan. 13, noon.
