One Small Molecule, Potential Giant Step to Improve Cognitive Function

TUCSON, Ariz. – With only five available drugs approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat Alzheimer’s disease – and no drugs to prevent or cure it – the National Institute on Aging has awarded a $6.1 million grant to the Center for Innovation in Brain Science at the University of Arizona Health Sciences to investigate a novel approach to treat the disease.

UArizona Testing App to Alert Students, Employees Exposed to COVID-19

TUCSON, Ariz. – As part of its plan to bring students and employees back to campus in the fall, the University of Arizona is preparing to offer the opt-in Covid Watch smartphone app, so that campus community members can notify each other anonymously if they may have been exposed to COVID-19. Arizona is the first state to start testing of the app, which began this week.
