Traditionally when the steel work portion of a big building is complete, the construction team holds a "topping off" ceremony for the last beam to be placed. Everyone signs the beam and dignitaries come to make speeches on the progress the building will offer the community. In the case of the HSIB and Biosciences Research Lab buildings on the UA Health Sciences campus, it's anticipated great contributions will be made toward innovative therapies and technologies to remedy some of the world's most challenging medical issues. Enjoy this gallery with new UA President Robert Robbins, MD, UA Provost Andrew Comrey, PhD, and UAHS Sr. VP Leigh Neumayer, MD, doing the honors at the podium. Thanks to Yves Lussier, MD, for the hat for Pres. Robbins. The majority of photos are courtesy of UAHS BioCommunications photographer Kris Hanning.
