Dr. Juneman Inducted into Arizona Women’s Leadership Forum, Charter 100 AZ

Image of Charter 100 AZ logo with Aravaipa Canyon shotElizabeth Juneman, MD, an associate professor of medicine in the University of Arizona Division of Cardiology, a member of the UA Sarver Heart Center and director of outpatient cardiology services at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson and South, was recently honored with induction into the Charter 100 AZ.

Dr. Elizabeth JunemanCharter 100 is a nonpartisan, professional association for women leaders from diverse fields. Founded in San Diego in 1978, the organization’s second chapter—Charter 100 AZ—was formed in Phoenix in 1979. The purpose of the Charter 100 is to recognize outstanding women in the community and to provide a forum for their interaction.

Dr. Nancy Sweitzer In congratulating Dr. Juneman, Nancy Sweitzer, MD, PhD, UA Cardiology division chief and UA Sarver Heart Center director, noted, “Well deserved, and I’m sure the connections you make and the network you grow through this organization will benefit both you and Sarver Heart Center!”

Dr. Juneman is among 22 new Charter 100 AZ members named in 2019-20 (18 in Phoenix and four in Tucson). Other members from the University of Arizona include: Roberta Diaz Brinton, PhD; Molly Gilbert; Meredith Hay, PhD; Leigh Neumayer, MD; Lisa Ordoñez; Lee Ryan, PhD; and Allison Vaillancourt.

Dr. Juneman joined the faculty at the UA College of Medicine – Tucson in early 2007, working at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System. She joined Banner – University Medical Center Tucson and South in 2015. She also is a member of the Core and Key Clinical faculty for the Medical Education Office of the UA Department of Medicine.
