Residents and faculty discuss projects presented at the Research AHD poster session on April 27 in Kiewit Auditorium.
Jawad Bilal, MBBS, a third-year resident in the University of Arizona Internal Medicine Residency Program – Tucson Campus was named overall winner of the Academic Half Day (AHD) Research Day poster competition for 2017.
Second-year residents, Matthew Adams, DO, and See Wei Low, MBBS, came in second and third, respectively.
The poster competition took place April 27 in Kiewit Auditorium.
Six top presenters at that competition were chosen to give oral presentations of their work as Clinical Vignettes for the Medicine Grand Rounds on May 10 and 17.

Dr. Bilal’s selection as the top presenter at AHD Research Day and Clinical Vignettes was announced to residents May 19. Last year, he placed third in the AHD Research Day poster competition and also received the Tucson Campus residency program’s Distinguished Research Award.
