It’s September, so that means flu season will be here soon and it’s time to get a flu shot to keep yourself, your co-workers, patients, loved ones and random folks you come into contact with every day healthy.

The College of Medicine – Tucson will celebrate the Commitment to Underserved People (CUP) program's 40th anniversary on Thursday, Oct. 18. From its modest beginnings 40 years ago, CUP has since evolved into a substantial program involving more than 90 percent of all medical students. Through the program, medical students help provide free medical care to more than 1,000 patients in the Tucson community each year. Participation in CUP helps medical students practice their clinical skills and get involved with the local community.

Workers in open office seating had less daytime stress and greater daytime activity levels compared to workers in private offices and cubicles, according to new research led by the University of Arizona.

Scar tissue is a good thing. When you fall and scrape your knee, the natural process jumps into gear, sealing up wounds and healing damaged tissue.
But scar tissue can go haywire. Excessive scar tissue — or fibrosis — is the cause of many diseases that affect the internal organs; most have no cure.
